ah i see...
Like a claims feature on some fansites. Not that that exists anymore, it was a fad at one time though. XD

this thing seems to be more of a possessive nature.
Like the ones that were plastered all over my friends page, the creator claimed like most likely 20 or more before posting for others.
This kind of reminds me of the day of these on fansites:
*digs up one to show*
oh wait i still have them on my site. I should phase it out. XD
It's just a LJ game to gather fans together, and advertise your love for something/someone. But you have to claim your beloved one as fast as you can or someone else might do it.
I'm a member of three of them, including one hosted on my own LJ.
