To all Moms on my f-list

June 16th, 2008 (09:15 pm)

I have this baby shower on Sunday (i know i know last minute!) and well I was wondering what you considered the "God sent" of gifts.
Things that were great to have and helpful, etc.

My mom's gonna get her something too, Aunt and all, even if they haven't seen each other in awhile. ^^

A snugglie, if said person doesn't have one already... those come in handy. Clothes that are bigger than newborn size (if this is their first baby) because the little buggers grow really, really fast. Burp clothes/receiving blankets are always nice to have extras of. If you want practical go for extra diapers, wipes, powder, rash cream (zinc oxide)... and something for mom and dad. Nail clippers... quick thermometer... ummmm... teething rings/orajel.... onesies/diaper shirts if it's a summer baby... too dang hot to put 'em in much else lol ya know, the day to day stuff no one seems to think of ;)

I dunno how the hospital works that your person is going to, but I've packed a diaper bag with stuff they'll need in the hospital -- diapers, wipes, something for mom to read/do, etc.

Not stuffed animals.

thanks. This is really helpful. ^^

Picked up a snugglie, and a gift receipt, just in case.
And some pink and white (can't avoid white for some reason) receiving blankets, ones that didn't latch on my dry skin. lol

you-kyan clap

Thanks for the reply. ^^

I think i've got my mom convinced into buying random bath related stuff / lotions. She really wants to get at least one of those hooded towels. XD

omg yes... those shake, open and pour into bottle ready to go formula cans are the most amazing thing ever. Toss a few in the diaper bag and you're ready to rock.

Even if the mom is breastfeeding, bottles are a good idea. Extra nipples too. They get lost easily. And a good bottle scrubbing brush or bottle cage for the dishwasher.

Brera Arm

Picked up a bottle brush, didn't realize they were so big. XD
I was looking for a this small thing, i had no idea they like jumbo size. @_@

I had picked up a 'Born Free' glass bottle a bit ago, before they were in all the stores, but luckily even though i bought it at a speciality store, I paid regular price for it, if not less, and extra nipples, becuase i was worried they might not be able to find that kind... -_-'''
