there's some awful shit happening too much lately.

Ameliasburgh, Ontario (which is close to Belleville)

Tracy Hannah, 46, and her daughter Whitney, 14 were shot, and succumed to their injuries. While daughter Shannon, 18, is in hospital in stable condition. There was also another girl in the house at the time, but she managed to hid in a closet. She's physically okay.

Dean Brown, 18, from Belleville is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder.  He and Shannon, had apparently been dating for several years, until a few weeks back when he ended the relationship. According to the Mom's brother, Tracy had allowed Dean to spend the night, because he had nowhere else to go, that's the kind of person she was.

Yes, Friday was an awful day.

Edmonton -

The first officer to arrive at the Great West Chrysler dealership, found her husband among the dead.
They were responding to a call of shooting, the shooting had stopped before they arrived. 2 were found dead inside, Dave Burns, a disgruntled employee, and parts manager, Garth Radons (husband to the officer).

Wingham/Seaforth

On the heels of the reports of the murders in Ameliasburgh, was the funrnel for Constable Vu Pham, in Wingham, Ontario. Pham was shot and killed on Monday.

Pham was born in Saigon. He's mother was key to getting him out of there, and other children before being arrested for doing so. He was later adopted by Dan & Terry Thompson. They were active members of the Pentecostal church in Sundridge, a village of 1,000, where Fred Preston lived.

Fred Preston is the man who was exchanging fire with the police, the one who shot Pham, on a rural highway near Seaforth.

Pham had a wife Heather, and 3 boys: Tyler, 14, Jordan, 10, Joshua, 7. The funeral was held in Wingham @ the arena. It was packed, and thousands more were standing outside, as the funeral service was broad casted over speakers so they could hear as well. It's estimated that 8,000 police officers were present, a sea of blue and red. Our premier Dalton McGuinty was there and spoke, OPP commissioner Julian Fantino, and many MPPs were also present.

I think it's important to say that Wingham isn't a big place, it's population is maybe 2,500. Pham was very active in the community through soccer and hockey, it's safe to say that most knew him. I have family in Wingham, my cousin most likely goes to school with the boys.

Preston died in hospital, he had been shot 4 times, and one was lodged in his brain.

yeah, a great week.
