Well I now know.

Jack Layton Passed away. Age 61.
He was our NDP leader (politacal party)

Everybody liked Jack. Oh he could talk! And he was great at it.  He made me want to vote. And I did. When he talked. You listened. He was funny, and he was serious. He was -- whay is it that our PM is speaking in french only? That's rude. That's right Jack was the best Prime Minister Canada never had. I read that on twitter. It's so true. I voted for him many many times, I just wished everyone else had as well, so we could of had him as our PM, even if only for a short time.

Jack was disnogsited with Prostate Cancer February 5, 2010. He fought it bravely and still campagined. That's the type of person he was. He would meet the people. He would talk to them, He always had time for anyone. He'd shake hands. He'd do everything. Unfortauately on July 25, 2011 he announced that he would be taking a temporary leave from his party, to fight an unspecified, newly diagnosed cancer.

This morning at 4:45am Jack Layton died, at his home surrounded by family.

2 days ago Jack wrote a letter and gave it to his wife Olivia. This letter was for Canadains.
It can be read here.

"My friends, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And we'll change the world."

Jack Layton
(July 18, 1950 – August 22, 2011)
