vent / rage post

Kamiya Tsurugi is a character from Servamp. His FIRST appearance is in chapter 39. CHAPTER 39. Which is either volume 7 or 8. So WTF you assholes doing the anime? WHAT THE FUCK?

Episode 5 the deconstructing of a series for no apparent reason at all other then stupidity and introducing Kamiyan and Ono Daisuke to cast and making it impossible to follow. And spoiling future character introductions in the manga for me. Thanks ever so. I'm on volume 6. The latest to be released in North America. Assholes.

Also Mahiru and Kuro can't be far apart so explain this shit to me? He's not even in the lab! and the delivery of the letter? the reading of the letter? Mahiru's "Uncle" where? Can I straggle someone now?

and then at the end of the shitstorm episode introduce Lawless who doesn't even appear til volume 5. So we will just throw away volume 4 like it's garbage.

Not getting any of the character building for Mahiro, Misono, Kuro & Snow Lily (who is a major important focus of volume 4 btw). Now we have Tatsu & Hugh and passing on that stuff as well. There's the "antiques seller" Mikuni & Jeje. Remember them? Exactly. That whole background thing with Misono, Mikuni and their father? Not important. Apparently.

I think they want to gather all the SerVamps together and "defeat" Tsubaki without even doing the background build up work needed. Good job.

Next week stay tuned for volume 5 - Licht & Lawless. And Tsubaki's goons.... maybe some music..... nothing useful.

If you did not know the manga, would the series, just from the anime, make sense?
I don't know the manga at all. I'm 2 episodes behind in watching as well.

If it's only going to be 12-13 episodes then it was already a safe bet it can't follow the manga as is and be able to give it an "end".

But then an anime version can completely ignore the source material, change things etc. It's nothing new in regards to anime adaptations. :/

I know nothing about them but there's also the drama CD series.

Brera Cute!

Does it need an "end"? I don't think so. This is going into AnE Territory of crappiness.

Owari no Seraph followed the manga nicely. We didn't get an "end" we didn't want it ruined.
Devils & Realist was similar. Attack on Titan. Natsume. 07-Ghost.

SerVamp wants to 'collect 'em all' aka all the Servamps and eves in one spot with no real reason to 'defeat' Tsubaki just because. Volume 4 is a pretty heavy volume. Very important. Yet worthless, apparently. At first I thought they were focusing on Tsubaki parts but they are even jumping over things with him now. However Tsubaki doesn't appear much in volume 4 so maybe.... yeah.

Apparently D.Gray-man Hallow is following the manga at light speed, but following it. lol

I mean if you want an original anime don't pick one with a manga series. That's just stupid. XD

Star Driver1

I don't know what you mean by AnE

End was in quotes because I meant it has to have a stop point of SOME kind, opened ended or not. Generally anime are made while manga is ongoing and so have to either "stop" at certain point or go original route...

Devils and Realist does not follow the manga exactly.

Blue Exorcist, BLEACH, Naruto, Kuroshitsuji, Free!, Sailor Moon, Ghost Hunt, Uraboku, Pandora Hearts, etc, etc plenty of original material and/or big changes from manga/novels. It's very common and been done for decades. As such, I really don't expect an anime to MUST follow source the material. More happily surprised if it does.

Again I don't know the Servamp manga so I can't judge how fucked up the anime is. You can probably e-mail the production company to voice your complaints. Stop watching if it's only going to piss you off. :(

D.Gray-man Hallow ripping through the manga chapters fast, yes. There's enough material now, they don't have any reason not to follow the manga. Budget (also why seiyuu cast do over) presume why trying to cram it into 13 episodes only.

shizu-chan smoke

AnE = Ao no Exorcist. which started fine then focused on the brother ....

They could easily stop Servamp at some point with no worries. But instead they've jumped to volume 8 or 9 or something without any backstory. That's concerning. Just so we can have Izaya & Shizuo... oh i'm sorry... Kamiya & whatever the hell that blonde guy's name is appear.... the whole thing's gone off into some alternate reality or something...

And i was worried about reading volume 6 bcuz I thought it would spoil the anime if it got that far. Jokes on me.

Don't think the JP creators care if Engish fans are current or not with the manga :/

Although if trying to lure in more NEW JP fans (not aware of the manga) they'll be in for a shock too.

Sucks when a show looked forward to seeing goes off in a completely different (and messed up) direction. :(

That's not my point. You start a show with volume 1; it goes to 2 then 3 then jumps to 7 or 8 then back to volume 5... in no sane mind does that make any sense.

There also no need to do it. It's as simple as that.

Why they've chosen to do that for Servamp ... any sane reason for changing it so much? No clue.

It's been getting coverage in the anime mags so maybe a producer/director has answered this somewhere in an article.

Other series do jump around a fair bit (and logic in doing so never learn). I mapped Natsume anime eps to the manga and it mixed things up quite a bit (but it still worked out fine).
